Committees
Please note all committees do not work the entire tournament week.

CADDIE HOSPITALITY (Mon-Sun) top▲

Handle caddie registration, distribution and collection of caddie bibs and provide information as needed. Volunteers on this committee will not serve as caddies during the tournament.

CLUBHOUSE/PLAYER LOCKER ROOM (Mon-Thu) top▲

Duties include greeting everyone that enters the clubhouse. Assisting the professionals and organizing nameplates on players’ lockers, showing players to their lockers, stocking Locker Room with necessary products and ensuring only individuals with proper credentials enter the Locker Room.

CONSTRUCTION (Before and after tournament) top▲

Everything that is not a permanent fixture at Magnolia Grove must be erected by this committee. This includes signage, scoreboards, Press Room, fences, ropes, stakes and more. this committee requires intensive labor in the heat. Volunteers must work mainly before and after the tournament.

DRIVING RANGE/CADDIE (Mon-Sun) top▲

Manage and control operation of driving range. Provide practice balls to players and place name placard behind each player's station. Shifts start very early in the morning.

JUNIOR CLINIC (Tue) top▲

Organize and plan the details and logistics for the on-site Junior Clinic.

LEADERBOARDS (Thu-Sun) top▲

Leaderboards are the primary method through which spectators and members of the media are kept instantaneously informed as to who is leading the golf tournament. It has current scores posted as golf rounds progress.

MARSHALS (Thu-Sun) top▲

It is impossible to have a well-run and successful golf tournament without good gallery control. In the eyes of the players, the reputation of the tournament depends on a well behaved gallery. Marshals are very important in keeping things quiet and orderly on the course while a professional is hitting. Some golf knowledge is very helpful.

PRO-AM (Pro-Am Days) top▲

Committee helps plan, organize and run the Pro-Am events. This committee is also responsible for registration of amateurs. Shifts begin very early in the morning.

PRODUCT DELIVERY (Mon-Sun) top▲

Stock and deliver on-course refreshments to tee boxes and distribute pairing sheets. May require heavy lifting.

REGISTRATION (Mon-Wed) top▲

Committee is responsible for assisting the players in registration and check-in process.

SCORING CENTRAL/COMMUNICATIONS (Thu-Sun) top▲

Committee is instrumental in establishing communication between all committees at the golf tournament. This committee is also essential in the scoring of the tournament. Some radio & computer knowledge is helpful.

SCORING TENT (Thu-Sun) top▲

It is the responsibility of this committee to see that all official scorecards are properly handled. When players complete their rounds, the signing and attesting of the scorecards is an extremely critical procedure.

SHUTTLE (Mon-Sun) top▲

Committee provides an on-course shuttle service for volunteers needing transportation. This committee begins very early in the morning. (Player and Volunteer Shuttles are combined into one committee)

Committee is responsible for ensuring that the tournament corporate sponsors’ needs are being met. These volunteers work in “Hospitality Areas & Sky Boxes.”

STARTER/ANNOUNCER (Wed-Sun) top▲

Committee is responsible for player introductions during tournament rounds from the first or tenth tee and eighteenth green. This committee is also responsible for professional and amateur introductions during Wednesday Pro-Am.

STANDARD BEARER (Thu-Sun) top▲

Committee is responsible for carrying the player identification signs and keeping spectators informed as to how the players are performing. Volunteers must be able to walk 18 holes of golf. Each round counts as one (1) shift.

TRANSPORTATION (Pre-Sun - Mon-After) top▲

It is the responsibility of this committee to provide transportation for contestants, celebrities and officials before, during and after the tournament. Tournament cars are provided. Volunteers should be very knowledgeable of the Mobile area.

TV SCORERS/SPOTTERS (Thu-Sun) top▲

Committee works with the television production crew in monitoring the tournament leaders for television broadcast.

VOLUNTEER HEADQUARTERS (Mon-Sun) top▲

Committee is the “administrative body” of the volunteers. They sign-in committees, distribute meal vouchers, and insure that food is distributed properly to the volunteers.

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION AND UNIFORMS (Uniform Distribution Days) top▲

Assist with set-up for all trainings sessions and volunteer uniform distribution and exchange.

WALKING SCORERS (Thu-Sun) top▲

Committee is responsible for keeping the players scorecards and keeping spectators informed as to how the players are performing. Volunteers must be able to walk 18 holes of golf. Each round counts as one (1) shift.
